Five of these pages are now
up and they are our way of doing our part with trying to jumpstart
the economy again in lieu of 9/11 and the adventure tourism industry
at this point in time could sure use all the help it can get.
We hear you. Here we are. Much of our economy depends on the places
we go, the things we do, the objects we buy, where we stay and
the restaurants we dine at. Adventure tourism is a huge industry
in the maritime world. This is the quality time that so many people
actively seek out and from now on these Tradewinds Pages are just
a mouse click away.
So far all the links that you see on our Tradewinds
pages have been posted there for free in our attempt to present
just what our concept of what a Cyberspace Web Wharf Hub to the
maritime world should look like. Everyone who has seen our Tradewinds
Pages thinks that they look great.
But unfortunately at the beginning our timing was
wrong in that our Tradewinds pages first went up right after the
dot com world crashed and burned. The concept of paid advertising
for this Web site, or anywhere else on the World Wide Web for
that matter, just didn't seem to float. So since then we have
just kept the sampler Tradewinds pages up with the hopes that
things would change again in the future once our Web site was
well established and in the meantime just let everybody advertise
on the Tradewinds pages for free.
Since then we have risen in the ranks of tall ships
maritime Web sites we are very happy to say and if you type in
"clipper ships" with most search engines, our Web site
comes up at the top of the list!
We think that this fact should translate into incentive
for the maritime world to seriously now consider advertising on
our pages, and just send us money donations on a voluntary basis
for this service. This way we can avoid the time consuming overly
commercial aspects of this service and spend our time with the
more creative aspects of this activity and eventually reach the
full potential of what we want these Tradewinds pages to be all
about. You can also support us now by buying a book copy of The
Era of the Clipper Ships.
